Dan performs on a weekly basis at Funeral Church Ceremonies (Requiem Masses) throughout Cork City and County and sometimes beyond the county also. He has performed at Requiem Masses from Dungarvan to Glengarriff and Buttevant to Ballinspittle.
Performing at Requiem Masses are an important dimension to Dan’s growing singing profession.
Dan feels indeed very honoured every time when he is asked to perform at the Requiem Mass of a much loved person. He is delighted to be of help to a family or circle of friends of a deceased person who are in a great time of grief in their lives.
Music is a huge help in the grieving process for those who have lost a loved one. Dan liaises with a family member or friend of the deceased on the music choices for the Requiem Mass to make sure that the music is fitting and appropriate for the final farewell.
There is nothing more rewarding for Dan when he knows that he performed what the family/friends of the deceased wished to be performed at the Requiem Mass of their loved one. Despite families being in a time of grief, Dan is always amazed at response of gratitude following a Requiem Mass when a family member/friend of the deceased phones him, thanking him for performing and making the Requiem Mass so special!
Dan is also available for Funeral Secular and Humanist Ceremonies at a Crematorium or otherwise.
